Mouse Guard RPG Adventures
Summer 1154: Beneath the Roots

The Guards' reputation has been damaged by recent events in the Territories, namely the handling of the Winter War of 1149 and Midnight's Rebellion of 1152. Now, the newly appointed governor of the town of Copperwood has taken an anti-guard stance and it's up to the patrol to sway the hearts and minds of the citizens of Copperwood and potentially the governor herself.

Fall 1154: The Thieves of Pebblebrook

The small town of Pebblebrook lies on the outskirts of the Territories, far removed from the other towns with the Weasels of Darkheather's border dangerously close. When mail runners from Pebblebrook stop arriving, Gwendolyn, the Matriarch of the Guard, sent out a small patrol consisting of the guards Paige, Aubrey, and Delvin. When Paige's patrol is more than a week late, Gwendolyn does the only thing she can do, she sends in backup.

Mouse Guard RPG Pregens - Talon Patrol
I picked up the Mouse Guard RPG book in 2009 and a date was quickly set to play with my group. In addition to making the adventure, I created six pregens who would go on to slay a hawk and adorn themselves with bits of talon and feathers from the slain predator. Since then these characters have gone on to appear in Origins 2011 and 2012 games, each player playing them slightly different and adding something new to them. Featured below are the 1154 versions of the characters used for Origins 2011 and 2012 and the advanced 1155 versions to be used in future con games that continue the story of the patrol.
* It's worth noting my pregens have an extra Trait, but otherwise are made exactly from the book. This was done to improve the Con experience and to differentiate the characters a little more. The 1155 characters do not track checks but instead have a few upgraded skill in place of counting tests from the Winter sessions rules.
** I hope to make these available as zip files later, so you can download the patrol at once, but currently I'm unable to afford that service from Weebly.
Dayne (Patrol Leader): Dayne is a patrol leader, not by choice, but by experience. Dayne is more comfortable off in the middle of the woods than in a city negotiating with a governor. A skilled archer, Dayne has downed his fair share of predators to keep the Territories safe. Caley is Dayne's former Tenderpaw and he still can't help but chide her for her many rash actions. By 1155, Dayne has changed little. His inclination to push himself to his utmost limits has been replaced with the wisdom of experience. He has spent time becoming even more attuned with and knowledgeable about the natural world and the dangers it poses.

Lilly (Patrol Guard): Lilly is a rational, thoughtful mouse. Hailing from Sprucetuck, she fits the stereotype of the inquisitive and inventive mice to a T. As a scientist she is often taking things apart to see how they work and to try and find ways to improve upon their designs. The mentor to Tander, Lilly strives to make him into a better Guard. By 1155, Tander has become a full fledged Guardmouse and Lilly's focus has shifted somewhat. While science and invention are still her passions, Lilly has steadily devoted more time to investigating the political corruption in the Territories and now seeks ways to bring down those causing the most harm.

Seyth (Patrol Guard): Seyth was born and raised a guard. Seyth fought in the Winter War of 1149 against the Weasels of Darkheather and was badly injured physically and psychologically by the horrors faced. Since then he has devoted his life to making the Territories a better place and keeping others from being injured the way he was. By 1155 Seyth is in rough shape. His more defense minded attitude has been replaced with a willingness to throw himself at an enemy to try and reduce the harm they cause through offense. While this tactic has made him a feared warrior, it concerns the rest of the patrol who is convinced he is trying to get himself killed.

Abel (Guardmouse): Abel has trouble sitting still. He's constantly doing something whether that's knitting, cooking, or exploring. This whitefur is a natural leader despite his young age and is being groomed towards eventually leading a patrol of his own. He also shares the inclinations towards boating and water of his hometown of Port Sumac. By 1155 Abel hasn't just grown into his large teeth, but his confidence has grown by leaps and bounds. Abel finally feels comfortable enough to wield the Hook and Line, the weapon and tool of many a water bound mouse and his deceased mentor Conrad.

Caley (Guardmouse): Caley is headstrong and unafraid of anything, she leaps in where others know it's a bad idea. One of the best fighters in the Guard, Caley has the skill to back up her rash actions but is unprepared for the other challenges of the Guard like pathfinding or surviving in the wild. By 1155, Caley's habit of running first into danger has been tempered somewhat. She's more likely to stick with the rest of the patrol and wait for them to decide on a course of action together, though she will argue her point longer and louder than anyone else. She has begun to fill in some of the gaps in her Guard repertoire, which, coupled with her new found patience, could see her becoming a Patrol Guard in no time.

Tander (Tenderpaw/Guardmouse): Tander is a friendly if naïve mouse from Shaleburrow. While Lilly is his mentor, Tander is learning a bit about being a guard from each of his patrolmates but is so eager to please he tends to go along with any suggested ideas. His natural inclination is to talk through a problem rather than resorting to steel or trickery. His keen sense of smell often comes in handy when the eyes and ears of the patrol fail. Promoted in the Winter of 1154, Tander is now a gold-cloaked Guardmouse. His innocent nature has been replaced with compassion. He now understands how harsh the world can be but that hasn't stopped him from looking for the good still in it. After Seyth started acting more aggressively, Tander took up the white-cloaks' former shield, becoming the most defensively minded member of the patrol and vying to spare the lives of even the Guard's enemies.
